Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a service that all websites we create need in order to achieve month-on-month turnover and traffic increases from people finding the website via Search Engines.
There are two sides to SEO:
The first includes making on-site programming and content changes to make your website easy for Search Engines to access, and appear both relevant and up-to-date.
The second is off-site inbound link generation which guides Search Engines into making your website appear important and a suitable destination for any given search term.
As we perform each change or invest in certain opportunities we will document exactly what we have done and justify why.
To help you understand our process, here is a typical work-flow for a new SEO campaign:
-
We sit with you and establish a list of keywords to target.
-
From this list we assess market competition (saturation) and traffic levels, this then gives us an initial feel for the scale of the task in hand.
-
We look into websites that already appear in the top 3 results (excluding websites such as Amazon, Wikipedia and the BBC etc.) to establish the shortfall between your website and theirs.
-
Using a combination of the shortfall and the market saturation data we are able to give pricing and time-scales to start working towards first page placements OR achieving positions further up the first page if you're already there. Its important you understand there are no guarantees, but we closely track all results using Google Analytics and other reporting software so you can see progressive results.
-
We start applying changes that help you close the gap between yourself and your competitors. We document all changes and services so you can clearly see how much effort is going into your campaign.
-
At the end of each month of your campaign we produce a report that shows the progress and achievements.
-
At the end of the campaign, you'll probably want to continue but perhaps target a different set of keywords. The whole process repeats.
-
After 12 months we produce an end-of-year report that compares your previous figures with current performance. All websites have some seasonal fluctuation, so only by working with clients over such a long time are we able to produce such financial and/or traffic-based reports.
